Todays post is about motherhood as you may see from the title. When I had my first born there was a lot of factors that made it hard to produce and didn’t allow for me to breastfeed. 🤱
My first daughter was placed in NICU 24 hours after labor. Her temperature wasn’t climbing so they placed her in an incubator/ warmer for a week. They released me from the hospital days earlier so skin to skin connection was hard.
At the time my housing situation was shaky. I was able to find housing after a few months but the stress of what’s next made it hard for me to be able to relax and ultimately bond.
Truly I was in survival mode. I knew I had to take care of my daughter through our transition as best as I could.
This pregnancy has been much better. I’m able to fully breastfeed her! As wonderful of a blessing that is, I do see breastfeeding requires proper planning. For mothers that are career oriented & or entrepreneurs, pumping is an essential task transitioning your baby’s proper meals. Im currently purchasing additional instruments as we speak
I see it’s better to plan then plan to fail for this journey!
